HOW TO OBTAIN EDSE CE CREDITS


Continuing education credits (ces) for edse certification renewal can be obtained in a variety of ways, including:

  • Attending and completing EDSE-led or EDSE-approved workshops, trainings, or events that take place within the three-year period. This includes Sexual Attitude Reassessments (SARs), Intensives, EDSE Master Class recordings, the Sex Ed Accelerator, and programming offered through ANTE UP!. Please note that the EDSExANTE UP! SAR that is part of the EDSE Certification does not count toward renewal, as it is a requirement for the certification itself.
    (1 hour = 1 EDSE credit.)

  • One-on-one or group supervision with an EDSE-approved supervisor completed within the three-year period.
    (One supervision hour = 1 EDSE credit.)

  • Hands-on services or somatic sexuality therapy with the intention of helping clients connect with themselves, work through blocks and challenges, and learn relational and sexual skills. These sessions must have taken place within the three-year period. A maximum of 5 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (One hands-on or somatic hour = 1 EDSE credit.)

  • Volunteer work within the sexuality education, reproductive health, or social justice fields that was completed within the three-year period. This can include but is not limited to volunteering at conferences, educational events, reproductive and sexual health clinics, and associated non-profits; planning rallies and protests; community organizing; moderating online forums and communities; public advocacy; and creating non-sponsored, unmonetized educational content for social media. A maximum of 5 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (One volunteer hour = 1 EDSE credit.)

  • Developing curricula, teaching tools, video or audio lessons, or manuals that were completed within the three-year period. Only one may be considered for EDSE CEs and, if approved, will count toward 5 CEs.
    (One = 5 EDSE credits.)

  • Authoring and/or editing a non-fiction book, journal, or collection that was published within the three-year period. Only one may be considered for EDSE CEs and, if approved, will count toward 5 CEs.
    (One = 5 EDSE credits.)

  • Completing a master’s or doctoral thesis or dissertation related to the field of sexuality within the three-year period. Only one may be considered for EDSE CEs and, if approved, will count toward 5 CEs.
    (One = 5 EDSE credits.)

  • Completing academic, scholarly, or other forms of formal research related to the sexuality field within the three-year period. A maximum of 6 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (1 hour = 1/2 EDSE credit.)

  • Attending and completing a maximum of 10 hours of non-EDSE-led or non-EDSE-approved programming that took place within the three-year period.
    (1 hour = 1/2 EDSE credit.)

  • Leading one-on-one sessions, group classes, or public workshops that focused on sex education or a sexuality topic and took place within the three-year period. A maximum of 6 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (1 hour = 1/2 EDSE credit.)

  • Producing and/or hosting sexuality-related events or conferences that take place within the three-year period. A maximum of 6 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (1 hour = 1/2 EDSE credit.)

  • Attending seminars, workshops, roundtables, or panel discussions that take place during conferences or summits related to sexuality education or research, reproductive or sexual health, activism or community organizing, business development, pedagogy, or other relevant fields. These conferences or summits must have taken place within the three-year period. A maximum of 6 hours can be used toward certification renewal.
    (1 hour = 1/2 EDSE credit.)
